Believe it or not, Brick Kiln Road was once a great place to live. It was quiet, scenic, and right next to the historic Middlesex Canal.
Can you imagine how beautiful this area must have been before UPS arrived?
Fortunately or unfortunately Brick Kiln Road is right off Rte. 3 highway, which made it attractive to UPS. Today Brick Kiln Road is certainly the spot to go if you need to drop off your package – just bring your ID though, as that’s required today.
There is so much traffic generated from UPS that a traffic police officer is required at certain hours on the corner of Brick Kiln Rd and Rte. 129 just to keep things safe. Today, you can forget about a quiet, scenic neighborhood. Those idyllic days are long gone. Now, the UPS location has some things going for it. For starters, there are no residential houses that truck pass on Brick Kiln Road on their way to the highway. That is, if you assume trucks always exit the way they are told to (which local neighbors will tell you, they don’t always!)
Does Chelmsford want another Brick Kiln Road, but this time further from the highway?
